Stare Jabłonki is situated amid the Taborskie Forests, known for centuries.
Stare Jabłonki is surrounded by the Taborskie Forests, whose undisputed queen is the Taborska Pine. It grows only in this one place in the world – the Taborskie Forests stretch from Miłomłyn, through Tabórz to Stare Jabłonki. The area's specific microclimate causes the pines that grow around Stare Jabłonki to develop exceptional characteristics – they are tall, have few knots, and their growth rings are fine. Thanks to this, during the Age of Discovery they became famous as the best shipbuilding timber in the world – masts under almost every European ensign were built from Taborskie Pines. Perhaps Christopher Columbus himself sailed under a Masurian mast. Today our 'straight-as-an-arrow' pines form a beautiful forest scented with resin and essential oils.
