Szeląg Mały is located in a basin, and its shores are covered with a beautiful old pine forest.
From the lake you can sail through Szeląg Wielki to Lake Pauzeńskie, through the Mała Ruś lock and then through the Ostróda lock to Lake Drwęckie. From there the way to the Baltic Sea is open – via the Drwęca River to the Vistula and onwards to Toruń or via the canal from Ostróda to Elbląg or to Iława.
