Ships pass through locks twice, at Mała Rusa and Ostróda, which, in addition to the extremely enchanting landscape characteristic of the entire route, is a wonderful experience for every cruise participant. On the route you can encounter protected species of birds, including the majestic white-tailed eagle, but also cranes, herons and grebes. Because of its natural and cultural values, the area has been legally protected as the Protected Landscape Area of the Elbląg Canal. Cruises are operated by Żegluga Ostródzko-Elbląska in Ostróda.
