The Kurza Góra Observation Tower is a unique structure, the only one of its kind in northern Poland. A walk along the wooden path leading to the summit of the 35-meter-high observation tower offers a beautiful panorama of the Drwęca River valley and a fascinating insight into the history of Kurzętnik Castle and the town of Kurzętnik itself.
Few people know that this location was chosen in 1410 for a great battle intended to testify to the might of the Teutonic Knights. Ultimately, it took place nearby, near Grunwald, and was a great triumph for the Polish-Lithuanian knights. The footbridge, which runs above the ski slopes, also serves as an educational trail filled with interactive installations and multimedia stories about the medieval times, the inhabitants of the fortified castle and the town beneath it, and the mysterious battle.
The facility, like the existing tubing track complex at the resort, is open year-round. It was constructed by Polish engineers, architects, and carpenters.
